LIFE'S THIRD QUARTER: A musical romantic comedy, it is a very positive presentation of our
life cycle as having gained one extra quarter. With change
in life style being a primary focus, the musical play is evocative of
the assumption that this is a creative third quarter - rather than that
of merely having additional elderly years. As in any of the comicality,
the sentimental is more profound, and of greater relevant substance,
when taken from real life as in this play.
A mature age
group will identify with the premise that not only have we all
statistically been granted an extra one quarter of life to enhance our
21st century lifestyle - we have been given a second chance. The twenty-two
original scores of music
set forth the premise that this is a time to live and love - again - in
this, our life's third quarter.
Performance and supplemental
copies will be provided at no cost, upon registration and
approval. Scenarios have been outlined for minimal set costs - needing only a few musicians, four dancers and seven enthusiastic
singers!

PRAIRIE
NOSTALGIA - A MUSICAL SUITE: The fourteen scores of music
of this book are presented on usable pages of 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
Three of the songs are supplemental to the Life's Third Quarter
musical. Along with the overture they were originally cut due to program time
constraints.
"From a school of musical thought that is now
rather historical, the notes are used exactly as a painter's brush, as
they are evocative of that which the titles connote. The instrumentals
are metaphors of sound, referencing sky, wind, rocks, streams, plodding
waltz techniques and first love. They evolve into melody lines with the
prairies presented metaphorically and beautifully. As a style of music
from the past, they begin with a preamble, building to be more integrate
and interesting towards a final crescendo."
TEN
INSTRUMENTALS:
Prairie Rock -
Winding Stream -
First Prairie Love -
Under
Blue Skies -
Prairie Syncopation -
Rowing Across -

Horse

To Life's Third Quarter. FOUR COMPOSITIONS WITH LYRICS:
