THE INSTAR PUBLISHING PROCESS: |

|
The first
meeting is between the author and Instar Publishing Inc.,
with no fee or hourly charge for this first consultation. Set fees then follow. |

1. Perusal of page proofs in usually in Word software, for authorization of
the publisher's imprint. 2. Editing is best done in Word, using numerous page proofs and options within the manuscript. (a) Or rewrites in lieu of editing (b) Or proofreading in lieu of editing 3. Added data, images or graphics are inserted along with custom illustrations if needed. |

4. The book size, material
and price is established. 5. PDF format is created with InDesign software with font and layout being determined. 6. Cover design and artwork is created using numerous choices of page proofs. |

7. A sample final print copy is reviewed and changed as necessary. 8. A quote is obtained from the printer for various print runs - and the printer is chosen. 9. At least one book distribution process is chosen with a projected date of availability. 10. The registration process: (a) Canadian Intellectual Property Copyright registration (b) Canadian ISBN Agency registration (c) EAN bar code graphic created and inserted on back cover (d) Cataloguing in Publication Program, Library and Archives Canada |

11.
A CD with the final PDF file is sent to printer (with
a retainer paid to the printer). 12. One copy of the final title is sent back and reviewed for any changes. |

13.
The printing and bookbinding of the title is completed with delivery to the
author’s address. 14. Legal depositing of copies of the publication to Library and Archives Canada is finalized. |

|
15. Options are considered: (a) Legal depositing and registration for the American Library of Congress (b) eBook distribution and online retail disbursement (c) Distributors, target marketing and selling processes are again reviewed. |
